Rubies are Gryffindor's Internal House Points (IHP). Rubies do not count towards the HOL House Cup. They are for the use of the individual houses only and are given for a number of reasons - contests, as a reward for house spirit, a great attitude, helping others, den challenge participation - anything. Look for announcements in the CR on how you can earn manes. You can see how many Rubies you have in your profile and it is also displayed in the CR under your name to the left. They are also listed in your HOL student file, and a top list of Internal House Point earners can be found in the CR and at HOL. There will be an award for those who have earned the most Rubies each year.
