*drags in one of the many leftover crates of bottles of butterbeer from Gryfftoberfest* Phew, looks like the SPD went a little overboard with the butterbeer stash! OK, well now that we’re finally done with Gryfftoberfest and we’re still harboring a large surplus of butterbeer, the only thing left to do is have one final toast to Gryfftoberfest!
*starts handing butterbeer bottles* CHEERS! Until next year, Gryfftoberfest, we bid you farewell!

1. The New Common Room
------------------------------------------
After yet *another* total annihilation of our beloved Gryffindor Common, the CR is back and it's time to start the rebuilding process. The Gryffindor staff is hard at work, and we're doing our best to return our common room to its former glory, and then some! You'll notice that many FAQs and other important topics are slowly making their way back onto the forums. It may take some time, so please wait patiently while we get all the pinned topics back up. Also, please take note that the RPG section will be opening up in the next week or two.
You can also help us out by letting the staff know if you come across any major problems while in the common room. (i.e. you try to enter your den but end up in the boy's bathroom, submitting a new post sets your pants on fire, that sort of stuff). Other than that, feel free to resume all of your normal CR activities, such as participating like whoa in den challenges and hanging out in the entertaining arcade!
By the way, please remember that the new CR url is now http://www.gryff.net/CR instead of http://www.gryff.net/cr. You probably already know that if you’re reading this copy of the OP, but the OP staff thought that it was worth mentioning again, just in case. Be sure to spread the word about the new url change to any lost lions you run across!

2. November Den Challenge
------------------------------------------
The November Den Challenge has begun, so it's time to bring out your imaginations to create a new Gryffindor Creature! The SPD's latest challenge faces you with the enormous task of designing a new creature to roam our halls and terrorize the students! \o/ Well maybe not terrorize... but you *will* have to design a new creature. Does your new creation have what it takes to stand beside the seagulls, the squeep, and the likes of Humfrey B.? That's up to you and your den to decide.
A detailed explanation of the rules can be found here. Your entries are due on November 30th at 11:59 pm HOL time, so make sure to use your time wisely! You'll have to draw pictures of your new creature, write stories about it, and do much more, so pay attention to the rules and let your imaginations run wild! Good luck!

3. Upcoming GQT Game
------------------------------------------
BLUDGER!!
Don't worry if you didn't manage to dodge that because the GQT was ready for it! \o/ Your beloved Gryffindor Quidditch Team is in tip top shape and they're ready to kick off their 2006-2007 quidditch season by taking on the Slytherin Quidditch Team this Saturday! It's been over a year since the GQT and SQT took each other on, which is waaay too long since the GQT has been needing new pairs of snake skin boots for a while!
Are you ready for the snake-slaughtering action that's sure to come? If you are, then you better join us on Saturday, November 18th at 9 pm HOL (4 pm EST) in #quidditch on IRC. Show up early to reserve a pair of boots in advance! (There's no guarantee of getting any boots if you show up late). Also, join the spectators in #grandstand to cheer on the GQT to victory! The team's counting on you to be there to support them, make sure you come to the game!

4. Paw Print
------------------------------------------
Due to the recent destruction of a certain common room, the October Edition of the Paw Print was delayed further than the eye can see. Fortunately, head Paw Print Editor Missa Matz promises that the latest edition of the Paw Print will be up within the next week or else... well there isn't really an "or else" when Missa Matz says that something will happen! For those of you who are suffering through serious bouts of Paw Print withdrawal, then get ready because a hefty dose of Paw Print goodness is coming to you soon!

5. House Meeting Logs
------------------------------------------
Were you unable to keep up with the mic hurling, tomato slinging, empty bottle chucking, chicken tossing fun at this month's November house meeting? Or perhaps you weren't able to show up and you want to know what happened? If either's true, then never fear because the Gryffindor staff has everything covered. We'll be posting a log of the meeting here for your viewing pleasure. Additionally, older logs of past house meetings can also be found there if you’re interested in knowing what happened during previous meetings. An announcement will be made once the new log has been uploaded, so keep an eye out for it!

But before we bid a fond farewell to Gryfftoberfest 2006, let's take a look at the contest winners! 1. Joanne Grey (39 rubies)
2. Pandora Black (34 rubies)
3. Ilona Littrell (24 rubies)
At the very last Weekend Games session, everyone present played a game called "Harry Potter Insanity" to determine who the insanest person was when it came to all things Harry Potter. Congratulations to Katie Potter and Pandora Black for being named the insanest HP Insanity players! Also, congratulations to Joanne Grey for being the only person to show up to all six Weekend Games sessions! What a feat!
And finally, please give an extra round of congratulations to the overall winners of Gryfftoberfest! With a grand total of 83 rubies, third place goes to Moiraine Lee! In second place with 87 rubies, we have Brenna Westfeld! And topping the charts with a whopping 105 rubies, our first place Gryfftoberfest winner is Angel Blackstone!
Well done everyone! Please stop by the Gryfftoberfest forum and leave your congratulatory remarks in this thread. And if you're curious as to what these wonderful entries look like, the SPD currently has a scrapbook in the works that will proudly display all of the entries once it’s completed. Keep an eye out for its release in the future!
