Welcome to the first Owl Post for this year! For those of you who are new, Owl Post comes out once a month and let's you know all the latest and greatest happenings in Gryffindor. From points opportunities to den challenges, we try to bring it all to you, normally in a humorous style. Unfortunately, the normal Owl Post writers (Joanne Grey and Jenny Lupin) were both unable to write this first Owl Post due to an overdose of homework, so that means I did it - and I don't have any humor. I lost it when I was trying to put up with Humfrey last week. For some reason he thought he should actually earn a wage. - (Prof. Missa Matz)
Oh, and sorry if you get this multiple times - still trying to fix the last mess Humfrey left in my database!

2. Welcome to the new school year/Meet your staff
------------------------------------------
Welcome to the 2008/2009 school year! There's been a lot of changes to Gryffindor over the summer. The Common Room got a bit of a make over, new sections were added, and there was a lot of changes in the staff. First, welcome Gryffindor's new Head of House, Prof. Missa Matz. After that we have our staff of prefects: Barbara Phoenix, Cyriel Aurorus, Jenny Lupin, Joel Aireserkeiel, Marie Thenes and Zenix James. We also have lots of brand new Junior Prefects joining our ranks. Please welcome: Ardeliah Longbottom, Ben Ackerman, Castora Grimsby, Kadina Tigano, Katie Potter and Zuvona Miska! If you need help, these are the people you go to!

4. Remaining Class Signups

Looking for a class to fill that last spot? Or did you just get back from vacation and haven't chosen any classes yet? Well the following classes located here, are still open for signups. The following classes are taught by Gryffindor Professors, or students and are still open for signups: History of Magic, HOL Quidditch, Lycanthropy (Basic), Lycanthropy (Advanced), and Roman Mythology.

Wondering what great point opportunities there are? Want to know what little extra things you can do to win points for your house? Wondering where your house is in the points race? 6. September House Meeting
------------------------------------------
Gryffindor's monthly house meeting was supposed to have been held on Saturday October 20th. Due to some unforeseen attacks by Humfrey Boggart, the meeting was rescheduled. The house meeting is a place where you can address your concerns and also be brought up-to-date on the latest happenings in Gryffindor. If you are interested in attending please read the information in this post.

7. Gryffindor Quidditch Team Tryouts

GQT is still having tryouts for all you crazy quidditch fans. The team this year is run by Barbara Phoenix and Zenix James. For more information on how you can be part of the Gryffindor Qudditch Team, refer to this post.

8. Cheerleader Tryouts
------------------------------------------
Do you enjoy quidditch, but don't like participating in games? Do you enjoy bringing joy and craziness to others around you? Well the Spice Girls, Gryffindor's Cheerleading Squad is looking for members like you! If you're interested in participating (and they do a lot more than just cheer for quidditch) please refer to this post.

9. September Den Challenge

September's Den Challenge is almost over! Hopefully you've all been good little students and have been helping your den come up with tons of great ideas for the challenge. For those of you who don't know, this months challenge is to create a den Passport! If you're interested in the details of this challenge go view it in this post.

10. Drama Club

After a long time on hiatus the drama club is back in action and accepting members! This club is all about drama ranging from discussing dramas, and writing and performing them on irc. If you're interested in joining the drama club, refer to this post.

11. Paw Print

Do you enjoy writing? Do you enjoy points? Then the Paw Print is the paper for you. It's a Gryffindor Newspaper/Tabloid type of writing, that is written by Gryffindors for all of HOL to enjoy. They are looking for a bunch of good writers who feel like flexing their writing skills. For more information about the hiring process please refer to this post.
